Modelling the agroecological and bioeconomic transition

Mitigating and adapting to climate change is a necessity for agriculture. MAELAB drives this change by deploying digital tools drawn directly from research. With these tools, and alongside our partners, we shape transition pathways, from the field to the territory, that we test and then compare against each other.

MAELAB considers the complexity of the farming system by accounting for its many components and their interactions. One lever can affect others in cascade. Transition solutions depend on the specifics of the territory, local value chains and soil-climate conditions: they must be designed together, factoring in climate projections.
